Project motivation and description:
The ring collector road connecting the community of Magatle to district road D3600 was dominated by loose sand of significant depth. This made the road difficult to use.
SHUMBA ENGINEERING SERVICES (SES) was appointed in joint venture with SKY HIGH CONSULTING ENGINEERS by the Lepelle Nkumpi Municipality to plan, conceptualize, design, bid document, contract administer and monitor construction of this project. The project entailed upgrading 4.6 km of gravel road to asphalt-surfaced road and road-related stormwater management. SES was responsible for pavement design, bid documentation, contract administration and construction monitoring.
